Authentication

The Edge Delivery API supports the following authentication methods:

  • API keys (or API tokens).

API keys

An API key is a string of text that identifies a user within the API. It must be provided when making API calls.

Info

You can manage your API keys through the Edge Services Platform. More details on how to get API keys on the Edge Delivery's Credentials section.

Requests

Requests must follow the standard HTTP Bearer authentication scheme to make authenticated calls to the API.

With this scheme you must include the API key on the Authorization HTTP header:

Authorization: Bearer <api_key>

API Keys can be retrieved from the Edge Services Platform under the API Integrations section. If an API Token already exists, it can be copied directly; otherwise, a new API Token must be generated.

API Integrations on ESP

To access and copy the API Token, navigate to the desired API and click the menu button at the end of its row. Note that the token must correspond to an API that has already been created.

API Integrations menu with copy

So you just need to replace the <api_key> placeholder with your credentials (API Token copied value). Example request:

Sample request

curl -H 'Authorization: Bearer my-valid-api-key' -X 'POST' 'https://api.system73.com/content-steering/v1/resource'
